Claire Elise Boucher is a Canadian singer-songwriter and musician. Her early work was classified as "lo-fi R&B to futuristic dance-pop",[4which draws influences from electronic, hip-hop, and rock. The lyrics of her songs often address the themes of science fiction and feminists. She has recorded five albums. The singer was born and raised in Vancouver (later shifting in Montreal), Grimes began performing her music during the latter half of 2000 with two albums released, Geidi Primes and Halfaxa In 2010, she released her first album on Arbutus Records. Following her joining 4AD her popularity grew with fame through Visions the third album on the studio. Visions contains the two singles "Genesis" as well as "Oblivion" and received the Canadian music industry Juno Award for Electronic Album of the year. After this, her album on her 4th studio effort, Art Angels, was released in 2015 and received reviews of praise, as several magazines called it the top album of the year. The fifth studio album Miss Anthropocene, was made available in the year 2000. Beyond the music industry, Grimes had a voice role in the 2020 online action-role-playing video game Cyberpunk 2077 and is a judge on the music competition game show Alter Ego.
