Her role in the role of Ashley Banks in The Fresh Prince of Bel Air is her most well-known. She began singing when she was 4. Her mother encouraged her to take her to an audition with Sesame Street. She started her career as regular performers in 1985 when she was a six year older on Sesame Street, a PBS children's television show. She performed in many Broadway shows that were staged in New York City, including Fences (with James Earl Jones as well as later Billy Dee Williams) and Orfeo del Campo (off-Broadway). At the age of seven, she was a contestant in Star Search and won twice and received a four-star rating after appearing another time.
